OBIT: Mrs. Peter Schieffer died this morning at 5:20 in her home on Whitney Street following a paralytic stroke, which she sustained about 8 O'clock last night. Arrangements have not yet been made for the funeral. Frances Renner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Renner, was born at Bavaria, Germany, March 10, 1876, and at the age of 16 came alone to the United States and went to Menominee,Ne., where she was a houskeeper for her uncle the Rev. Father Casmir Renner. She was married Aug 25, 1897, to Peter Schieffer at Menominee, Ne., where they made their home. Six years ago they came to Carroll and located. Twelve children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Schieffer. Two died in infancy and Martha at the age of 11. Thosse who survive with the father are Casmir Schieffer at home; Mrs. Henry Clemons (Barbara) of Petersburg Ne.; Mrs. Fred Caspary (Agnes) of Carroll; Miss Teresa Schieffer, who is housekeeper for the Rev Father Joseph Cordes of St. Lawrence parish; Richard Schieffer of Neleigh, Ne.; Vincent Schieffer of Breda; Alfonse Schieffer of Elgin, Ne.; Mrs. Fred Renze (Frances) of Manning; Mrs. Regina Riesberg at home. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. John Renner, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Honer (Augusta) in Germany, and another sister, Mrs. Joe Hinderman at Dickeyville, Wi. Mrs. Schieffer was afficated with diabetics and high blood pressure. The day before Easter Sunday, she ruptured a blood vessel in her arm, but recovered sufficiently to be up and about the house. Her death was unexpected.
She was a devout member of SS. Peter and Paul's Church and also a member the Christian Mothers society. She died well forified with the last rites of the church.
