| Notes |
- 1850 census age 69 no occupation (as if retired) adult children living with him: Catherine, 25; Mary, 22; Sarah, 20 or 21" Also a young person named John Pervis from Ireland, probably a servant or laborer which is not uncommon with the Bloomers
Next door is the Richard Bloomer family. How are they related, if they are?. Seems logical they would be family, Age is right that Richard would be Jacob's son, except--I find no where that Jacob has a son named Richard.
Richard, 42, Almira, 32, Jacob 12, Amelia 11, Cynthia 1, Jared Fraley, male 30 laborer from Ireland.
Richard is a farmer with $3500. worth of realestate--just about the amount I would expect Jacob to have unless he turned it over to a son.
Note: Reuben is not found in census. Clearly this Richard is Reuben. Name of wife and children would indicate it. Age is correct, location--everything but first name.

According to Road District information http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Bridge/3962/1803/newbrg6.htm
Jacob lived in road district number 12 in Newburgh "3". His next door neighbor is Reuben Holmes, his father in law. "6"
Jacob and Catherine (Holmes) Bloomer. Jacob was the father of John and father-in-law of Rebecca (Waring) Bloomer. Just as in the family of John, guardianship records from Newburgh, Orange County proved to be a key. In 1832, at the death of Catherine (1Nov 1831), Andrew J, John, Sarah Ann, Catherine, and Mary Elizabeth plus their individual birth dates were recorded in civil records. These children were all listed as minors. Jacob died 15 Feb 1851 and as Catherine, Jacob is buried in Balmville Buruing Ground. Rueben H. and William Bloomer were both over 18. This would account for all the children named in Orrin Bloomer’s records.
