  Notes	He volunteered with Co. G, 325th Infantry . 82nd Division on Sept. 22,1917 at Camp Lee, VA. Sailed May 1918.Died Nov. 4 1918 Minuteman. Wilbert was buried on July 29, 1921 nearly three years after his death. His picture is in Westmoreland towns in "The World War" page 317, Latrobe Library. he died of pnumonia waiting for his ship to return. Military Service: WWI, Pvt. Co. M. 317th Inf. 80th Div. received from Peg Black Latrobe Bullet, Latrobe, Pa Thursday July 28, 1921 died Nov. 4, 1918 BODY OF SOLDIER ARRIVES HOME At the home of Peter A. Short, of Gray Station, is lying the remains of his son, Private Wilbert G. Short. whose death occurred on November, 4, 1918 , In France. The body came in yesterday from Hoboken and was taken to the home of the parents. Private Wilbert G. Short was a member of Company G, of the 325th infantry of the 82nd Division. He was stricken with illness late in October, 1918, following participation in severe fighting in the Argonne forest. He was taken to a hospital wherre pneumonia developed and he died November 4, 1918. He lived on the farm all of his life and had many friends in Derry, and towns near to his home. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 in the Blairsville Methodist church. the American Legion, of Blairsville, will turn out.
