A main task there was to find the newspaper article about the death of Mrs. Lydia Dunbar, which I had found online just a few days before we left, at
http://chickened.tripod.com/Obits1848part2.html
There is no indication of what newspaper it was in, so I asked an archivist, and he found 2 microfilms from 2 newspapers in Geneva from 1848, and we found it in the first one we looked at - the Geneva Courier, dated 29 March 1848. (We could not find an article about her death in the other newspaper.) It did give the exact date of her death (23 inst 1848; that is - 23 March 1848), in Seneca, and her age (83), and her death cause (erysipelas). It praised her Christian virtues, said she had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for more than 40 years, and was a warm & devoted mother. It did NOT give her husband or her childrens' names!!! I think it must be Lydia (Odell) Dunbar tho. I got copies of the article & the newspaper heading & can scan them & sent them to you if you want to see them.
